History
**Under Construction**
Changing and improving the way things are done has been the history of Environmental Services Corporation (ESC). That is why it is fitting that changing and improving the company is its history as well.
The company was originally founded as a small two person firm primarily aimed at maintenance and piping to deal with environmental test chambers on Redstone Arsenal. ESC has expanded greatly in the last 35 years and the focus of company has changed as well.
Founded in 1976 by Russ Grimes and Carol Grimes, Environmental Systems Corporation has provided the best in HVAC services to commercial and industrial clients in the North Alabama and Southern Tennessee area.
That was only the beginning for ESC.
The company was originally founded as a small two person firm primarily aimed at maintenance and piping systems to deal with environmental test chambers on Redstone Arsenal. ESC has expanded greatly in the last 35 years and the focus of company has changed as well.
ESC still provides services dealing with the original focus of Environmental Test Chambers but the primary focus of the firm has changed over the years. Today, ESC provides turnkey HVAC systems to the defense contracting industry .
The company also serves the other industries that keep Huntsville and North Alabama in business.
- Complete mechanical engineering and design services
- Building Commissioning
- Energy Management and Control Systems
- Turn-key Mechanical Systems
- Budgeting Services
- Maintenance Solutions.
In 2003, ESC merged with Paul Smith & Associates, a professional consulting engineering firm with Engineering, Commissioning, Building Automation, Mechanical Construction, and Facility Maintenance company under one roof.
That change allowed the company to do more but it never changed its mission and message.
